As the world in which we live and work becomes increasingly complex, new and unprecedented demands are being made of today’s leaders. This gives rise to important questions concerning the qualities and characteristics of effective leaders, and how to train and develop them. Through reviewing some of the current evidence, this presentation aims to identify some of the critical questions that can support leaders and those who train them in planning for an uncertain future and considers what a cognitive behavioural approach to coaching might contribute.
