Abstract

While inclusive leadership is now a topical subject, many people are coaching inclusive leaders in Ireland and the UK, and yet little has been explored in how best to develop inclusive leaders in general.
This thematic analysis aims to take a small cohort of coaches and explore some of the differences and commonalities in the interpretation and focus of inclusive leadership coaching to understand the landscape of inclusive leadership coaching in Ireland and the UK, how they are coaching leaders and how they understand inclusive leadership from their perspective.
The value of this project is in understanding how inclusive leadership coaches conceptualise inclusive leadership and the focus these coaches take while coaching leaders to be “inclusive leaders”. This leads to a better understanding of how inclusive leadership is being bridged between the research and framework of inclusive leadership and how leaders on the ground are being introduced to the topic of inclusive leadership through coaching.
By engaging in a small research project of this type we can better understand the perceptions coaches have of inclusive leadership and their coaching of inclusive leaders.
