Abstract

A talk and workshop delivered as part of a programmed day for this annual event; looking at the writing (text) process for an illustrator (image), and the relationship between text an image in picture books. The talk was aimed at new and established writers looking for guidance in writing and/or illustrating for picture books.

Additional Information: This event is in its third year, and organised in partnership between the University of Suffolk and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Suffolk Children’s Literature Festival theme was ‘Extraordinary Journeys’. This event is organised to support new and established writers of picture book, middle grade and young adult fiction. The festival was organised by UOS lecturers Dr Lindsey Scott with support from Dr Darragh Martin, Dr Vassiliki Tzomaka, Rob Ramsden, and Caroline Roberts.
