Abstract

Jane Watt and Sara Heywood collaborated as artists in residence as part of The Alton Estate Regeneration Project to realise Reflections on Home. The artists interviewed over 200 past and current residents to investigate and record historical and contemporary perceptions and experience of home and community in one of the UK’s largest post-war social housing development, prior to future planned regeneration.

The outcomes included a sound walking tour app, an interactive sound installation that was part of the Wandsworth Arts Fringe and an edited soundscape was broadcast as part of Art Licks Weekend Radio in partnership with TACO! And RTM radio, as well as a short documentary film.

Commissioned and funded by Artscape, Redrow and Wandsworth Council.
